Ending the year on a good note. =)

Its 29th Dec of the year 2006. Its a good year for me. =D Just got news that the school approves of our project and gives the go ahead to source for funding for the construction of the solar car. hee hee. Going to be fun and gonna be stressed too. But will keep it as eustress, which is good stress. and 1st wish for next year is to successfully conplete the car and race it in Australia next Oct. =)

Got my results back too! Obtained a C+ for my last maths paper, the best so far (Gotten 2 Ds and 1 C on previous maths paper). Hee hee, was expecting a D, but not complaining about the C+. Heh. Obtained better results than i had expected, and as the uncle at the fruit stall puts it: 4 粒蘋果, 3 條香蕉. So that caps the end of the semester which i took modules from year 1 to year 4. And i look forward to only 6 modules next semester, but with higher stress and workload on the FYP project.
Good news is, everybody i asked cleared their subjects!! Yeah!! one final sem to go before all of us graduate from NTU! =D

Since i will be home from today till 3rd Jan 2007. Though maybe can get to use the com at home, here's wishing everybody a Happy New Year, and may all find happiness, keep in great health and have wonderful events and happenings in 2007!!

yet another happy day - my fren's wedding

Getting old liao, everyone around me is getting married. Very happy yesterday as 2 of my frens tied the knot at the church at Chai Chee and later in the evening, attended their wedding dinner also. A loving couple and well planned proceedings which made the church wedding 'chop chop', 1 and a half hours and the wedding dinner completed at 1030 pm. My very best of wishes to them as they head out to Toyko, Japan for their honeymoon (Same as my previous pair of frens). Looks like Jippoon is a popular honeymoon destination so far. =P

Very happy to see people moving on to the next phrase of their lives, and move on together on their special path in life.

Now sitting in my study room (no longer in hall, thank goodness. =) ) but should be heading back tomorrow. Was ok until someone told me the results may be out next week, and i have yet to decide on which modules to take.... actually not much of a choice to make, cos have to clear everything next sem for me to graduate. heh heh

all is clear! =D

An update of the ultrasound scan, the ultrasound doc says that i have nothing to worry about. =D Saw my liver, spleen, pancreas, kidney during the scan. heh heh... the most memorable thing i saw was the layes of fat depositis that i have. Looks like it is time to shed off some fats liao. =P
Now going to get busy with fyp again, tomorrow have a meeting to prep for.

Thank you to all who had prayed for me and wished me well. =)

back from kukup

Didnt update my blog before i departed for kukup, m'sia early sat morning. Went up there for R&R, which meant 4+ rounds of mahjong, a bbq feast (which we didnt have to do anything but eat), and a k session, of which i listen in more than i sang cos i mj-ing.

Managed to have a special on my 1st round, 十三么 (13 wonders) with 2 animals = 15 fan. heh heh heh. thanks to yx's 一萬. Was entertained by fireworks and crackers from neighbours (suspected to be also s'poreans), totally free of charge. We were playing by the sea with loud explosions by the fireworks.

Now back in room, doing nothing much, just preparing to fast by midnight in preparation for tomorrow's scan. Good news is, my level of worry had dropped significantly. =) Bad news is, i have loads of stuff to do as i neglected them as i worried previously. oops ....

going for another scan...

Had my medical check up this morning. Got to know that my doctor, Dr Noorainun, had left NUH. So met a new doctor today, Dr Ng. Did the usual checks, but found my stomach was 'harder' than usual.
I asked if the 'hardness' was due to my fats from my beer belly ... unfortuately, he replied that fats are normally soft. So an ultrasound scan was scheduled for me next monday morning, cos a CT scan would be damaging due to radiation....
Although it probably will show nothing, but am worried nonetheless. It will be my third ultrasound i will be undergoing, but will be the 1st time i will be scanned on the stomach, on the left side. Think he is focusing on the liver and spleen? hmm... cant really chat with him, Dr Noorainun was much more approachable, giving me info on what is happening and why. hiazz...
Well, lets hope all goes well. Will continue with my schedule as normal and hope for the best and to stay healthy!! =) positive thinking is of utmost importance. =D

A year older and mugging for 2 papers tomorrow ...

Had fun and was very happy at the bbq on tues. Had dashed off after the fluids paper, the last paper for dawn and yx. Travelled back to the east, after about 3 weeks of being cooped up at ntu. Was rather surprised at the turnout, thank you, my dear friends for being there despite it being a weekday. Didnt invite many, esp from navy and ntu, as i was rather busy mugging for exams. pai say about that.... =P
Was glad that everyone had a chance to meet up, esp when 'lao er', the long lost CBT showed up. Next time can meet for snooker, table tennis or winning 11 liao. =) if u have the time. A very pregnent saraker also came, evie wif cooper (he licked me!) and the SSC gang. My CCHS brothers and sis too!! heh. Best of luck for your jap paper da jie!
And of cos, the ntu eee mahjong club ex-co who have also cleared their papers already. My wonderful study group and dawn's friends, who came down from so far away (xx and cuimei). Thanks for coming. heh =P
The 1st time i shared a cake with 2 other friends with the same birth day, but from different years. Maybe have to stop the birthday thingy liao ... 27 already, and am THE oldest kid in my age group to still hold such events....... while my friends are celebrating their son's or daughter's 1st old month or 1st brithday.
Then again, will still try to arrange such gatherings and keep in contact....then my birthday would be just coincidental. heh heh heh.
Have tons of things to write, but,... its back to mugging time for the final 2 papers of the year !!! yeah!!!

Can i clear maths 3 ???

Ubber sianz today. Came out of the exam hall, disappointed. The paper was much more difficult as compared to previous 2 sems. But hopefully, i will be able to clear it with a D. =) If it is a D, it will be my 3rd in NTU and yes, it joins the other 2 maths paper that i also obtained Ds previously. If i dont clear it, then i will be able to proudly say that i ta-bao-ed once in NTU.

Studying fluids for the past few hours, still rather unsteady, confident of only doing 1 question (convergent/divergent flow), somewhat confident for doing 1 question(boundary layer), not so confident in the other 2 questions....... too many formulas to memorise and hopefully the paper will be easy. Quite a number of people had completed revision cos they have less papers. Hiaz..... next sem will be yet another struggle although only left with 6 ~ 7 modules, cos the majority have about only 3 ~ 4 modules.

Although i had completed 10 modules in 1 sem in year 3, at least the topics were easier and had help from yx and dawn. Now, tougher subjects and everybody is learning, tough. Since the going gets tough, i should get going too!!!! *back to fluids* =P

a day of boundary layer and unsteady flow

Had breakfast wif yx and roy this morning at can 13. Decided to take the bus to can a since we paid $12 each for it liao. Having waited for the bus for a brief moment, we spotted the bus in the opposite direction coming towards us..... in the spur of the moment, we rushed across the road and boarded bus C.

Since this was my second time onboard the shuttle bus this sem, it costs $6 for this ride round NTU. To our utter dismay, the bus driver was VERY VERY slow. Roy was bouncing on the seat in irritation .. "Why so slow!!!!" as the bus crawled along at barely 15km/hr. We took about 10~14 mintues from hall 13 to reach can 2 bus stop, where we alighted, crossed the road and took bus D BACk the way we came, reaching can a in less than 7 minutes.....

After that, was a boring day of boundary layer flow for the entire morning and afternoon, and unsteady flow in the evening till night. Hopefully that will mean that i can solve approx. 3 ques for mp4005. Well ... that will leave me mon afternoon to learn the ques 4 and revise everything cos tomorrow is chionging maths 3 in prep for monday morning paper.

fun day, ends with sian-ness.. =P

Came back to hall today early with yx this evening, actually, about same time for me ba. Intention was to play table tennis, unfortuately, the regular bunch of foreign students had booked the badminton AND table tennis courts. PISSed off cos, most are not from our hall, but 10+ of them rotated about the badminton court and table tennis table which one of them booked ..... sigh.....

Too bad i was too lazy to hand up a booking slip for table tennis table, too much effort? Oh well..

Moving on to fluids tomorrow liao. Hopefully can understand water hammer and turbomachinery, if the velocity diagram is not given = sian liao, unless of course, i can understand them tomorrow. Heh. Cos sun is maths time again.

Went to JP for dinner, and raced Daytona with yx, andy, roy and dawn. 3 rounds of reckless driving and intentional crashing, especially targetting poor dawn. Her car's roof top was completely FLATTENed at the end of the race. ha ha ha ! I had sacrificed myself by aiming straight for her car during the tight bend, sending both of us flying in the air, wiping her off the 1st position. heh heh heh !

加油吧!!! one last weekend of mugging and last 1 or 2 papers for yx, andy, dawn and roy.... final 4 for me. =P Yet another semester of exams stretching the entire examination period, but it will be my 1st try at having 2 papers on the last day of exams (1st Dec). Lets hope it will go through smoothly.

surprise surprise!!

Revised maths 3 today, went through matrix and differential vector calculus... surprised that i still know how to do them. Heh. But slept quite a bit today also, taking breaks in between studying. More breaks than usual.

Back again for med, hopefully can complete integral vector calculus tomorrow morning and statistics too. Have to move on to fluid dynamics after that. To be ready for back to back papers next mon and tues.

A restful day, quite relaxed and happy today. Not much on thoughts yet.... thinking about life and all, for a start and for my book. Hopefully one day it will be published, if it gets completed in the first place. The only spare time i have would be maybe next Nov, after completion of the solar car race; if that happens too! So many ifs ... but will do for a rough guide for my future.

Goal setting is important ba.... i feel so. Somewhere to aim at and work towards, better than be adrift in the unpredictable currents of life. =)

Tired ...... but smiling =)

Just got back in hall, feeling tired, and fat. Looks and feels like i had put on quite a bit of weight within the exam period. Need to exercise more liao. Must not break the 80 kg barrier. Gosh!! .. .its 2 years ago when i am only 68kg. At least i know how much my beer belly actually weighs.

Started the fire, will be brewing my herbs in a while. Studying fluids dynamics today, managed to get the quick reference notes on part II out today, maybe do a bit more later so that can start past year papers either late friday or sat. Tomorrow will be maths liao... my final maths module for university studies. Looking forward to clear it.. hahahaha!

A bit sianz about having sold of my 2 lots of synear and sino-environment. If i had held on for 1 more week , i would had earned extra $800. That will cover my expenses in Dec liao. Oh well.... cannot have the best of everything. Lets hope ascott and sino-techfibre continue to climb. =)

But now, lets concentrate on exams 1st..... and glad that i got back to blogging again. Wonder why i gotten so lazy (prob cos no time? or was playing winning 11 too much? heh) last few weeks.

Oh!!! .. went to Yiye's and Wanyin's wedding dinner last Sunday... was very happy for them. Heh heh... my 'sister' is now happily married to yiye. SO nice... felt very happy, and glad that i went despite having 3001 paper on Monday. Still smiling away when i know they are in happy land, prob in japan now for their honeymoon AND that wanyin gets 2.2 months bonus. heh .... all my navy friends also get 2.2 months... yeah!

Weddings are once in a lifetime thingy, if i unlucky fail 3001, can always retake next semester. I guess that is something i learnt from my episode, that being happy and going to celebrate friends' happy occasions are more important than many other things in life. Priorities...priorites.. =)

No time to upload pictures.... maybe next time ba. The network is so slowwwwww at night.

4 papers down... 4 to go!!!!

Just completed my 4th paper today. Finally have space to breathe after having papers last thursday, friday, monday and today!!!! cpanel is down, so i replaced it with cbox. heh... getting a bit more internet savvy liao. =P

My next paper will be on next monday and tuesday ... Maths and Fluids dynamics.... cheem but hope that i can make it!!!! So far the exams could be described as smooth ba. The killer paper on last monday - MP3001 - Dynamics and control .... couldn't do 1 question ... Mr Ques 3 .... luckily, when i met up with my yr 3 floormate, he said that his study group, all didn't know how to do it too!!! "phew!!!!"

Lets hope the rest of the papers also can go 'soon soon' and maybe grab a couple of As along the way... heh heh.. especially aiming for my year 1 subject - Effective communications on 1st Dec. Maybe they will give chance, after all, very few students get to take year 1 module when they are in year 4. Though i guess i would be the rare year 4 student, cos i taking modules from yr1, yr 2(maths 3), yr 3(MP 3001) and the other 5 modules are year 4 modules. =P

Stress levels are still well balanced at about optimum range, though it peaked a bit on Saturday cos of 3001. But managed to control it and relax. A bit anxious in the early part of this month cos there was this fear of getting cancer as i was diagnosed with cancer approximately 2 years back, early Nov.

The good thing about exams is that i dont get time off to worry about cancer relapse and all, heh heh .. chionging for exams is better, but dont worry, cos i get adequate rest and play during this period. Hmmm ... my floormates are complaining i play too much, esp when i now own a PS2 + multi-tap which i engage in winning 11 (a soccer game for those who are not familiar) with my friends every night, and even before exams!!!

3 wonderful days and a sickly one

Just recovered from a feverish day yesterday (tuesday). Was rather unproductive, slept almost the entire afternoon, from 1330 all the way till 1830, apart from waking up 4~5 times to pee and drink tons of water!

Had spent Friday, Sat and Sunday with my family, esp cos my brother's girlfriend from Taiwan came over for the 1st time. Heh heh. And it was a wonderful resting time, didn't know i was so tired out cos i slept thru Sat afternoon and Sunday as well, only going out for dinner time.

Went out on monday too, as it was e-learning week, my lesson in the morning was supposed to be done online. So it was off to tim sum lunch at Paramount hotel. Quite good, also tried the 'da za crab' .... quite good, but expensive. =P

Had recovered by today, but still having a slight sore throat. But at least done quite a fair bit of 4011 project on designing a massage chair. =) 3 weeks to go before having to hand it in.... and exams are due in 4 weeks time !!!! Time to visit and camp in the library liao.

Speaking of exams, there will be many people looking for pick-me-ups and this is one pick-me-up i saw in Berlin, near the sony centre at Potzdamer Platz. =)

One quiz, an assignment and a dream....

Had my 1st quiz yesterday, been a long time since i had a quiz. Did the 3001 CA assignment also, had to enlist the help of my neighbour who is in year 3 for help. =P Tough sia, even after explanation, i still blur blur. Well, at least thats done and heh.. 30% of total marks, i get 20% i happy liao.

Dreamt of my grandmother yesterday. She passed away sometime back, on a day which i would never forget, because the day she passed on, was the day i was admitted to the hospital for cancer treatment. Can still remember that she was passing on in the morning, thus i had a chance to see her for the last time. She was barely concious of the surrounding, but still responded as i called her. =) After that, i had to take a cab down to NUH for admission.

After admission, life would be rather a blur for the next few days. My first time under chemotherapy was rather sucky. It was through IV drip where the medications (total of 4, name = AVBD) were injected directly into the veins. Felt so bad and painful that what was supposed to be a ONE hour session took 4 hours to complete. What a torture!!

After 3~4 days, i was discharged and managed to be at my grandmother's wake for that one time. It was afternoon and was still rather weak, offered incense at her alter and cried. Tears flowed 'uncontroll-ably' as i knelt there.....

Today is Mid-Autumn festival, can still remember a few years ago, when i made pandan-flavoured ice-skin mooncakes 冰皮月餅 for my grandmother. My 5th aunt, who was living with her, told me that she enjoyed my mooncakes and chose mine instead of those bought from shops (To give credit, the shop where i bought the red bean paste made fantastic red bean paste, i made the ice-skin and molded the mooncakes). Very happy to remember that, yet very sad that she couldn't taste my mooncakes anymore.

Somehow, i miss my grandmother despite not being very close to her. I guess that's life, by feeling such sadness, I treasure my family and friends even more. How much time do i have left to spend with my loved ones? To share my joy? To play with friends?

Through death, i found how to live.

Since i am lucky enough to live, i hope that i can give as much as possible to everyone; in care, in friendship and love. As for money, erm .... let me strike toto 1st. then can share more. =P

Speaking of time, this is the clock face of the church bombed during WW II in Berlin, beside the Zoological Garden Main train station.

Time waits for no man.... everyone had thought of caring for friends and stuff everyday, but have you said it out today? i try to say it out everytime, be it a compliment or even a greeting, a smile or laughter. Have you shown your love for your family and friends today?

Recess? Wat recess?

This week is supposed to be the recess week. To take a break, have a rest etc etc. But instead, i find myself having to do up Solidwork models of the suspension, meetings and rushing MP3001 assignment.

Tough... very tough. Hope i get to understand 3001 before the exams. =P Right now is to concentrate on completing the assignment before moving on to learning/revising on Maths 3 (2006) and Fluids (4005). At least the GE on 'Mental health: Are you OK?' quiz should not be that much of a problem. And it would be next week on the 5th of Oct. Maths 3 on 18 Oct, 4005 still unknown. Lets hope i didnt miss out on any quiz.

Swam with the guys this afternoon, was rather fun. Still wondering if i should go swimming tomorrow or Taiji... hmmm.

Should be heading home tomorrow night. Thinking of spending more time with family, feel that i stay in hall too much. i guess thats the sagittarius in me. Freedom and independence!!!

Here's a picture you may see in 20 year's time? Where going to pee will cost you 1,10 EUROS!! Yes!! This is from Berlin, Zoological Garden train station's toilets. If you really need to pee here, it will cost you ... S$2.20. So lets stop complaining that that 20 cents toilet in Singapore is expensive.

Btw, the toilet at MacDonald's close to this place also needs payment when i was there back in 2002. Didn't check it out this time round though. =P

How to make time?

I went swimming on Wed morning, and again this morning. Actually just back from SRC swimming pool. Realised that it is only in the morning where swimmers can actually swim lengths, as they installed ropes for swimmers to swim breaths at about 830 in the morning.

Waking up early and going for a swim, abeit a slow one, actually gives me more time in dwelling in my thoughts. Did 20 laps, but wasn't concentrating on swimming, but rather letting thoughts swim about in my mind. Thinking about what i want, what i feel about stuff. So many different thoughts swam in my head as i stroked across the pool.

It feels good to be able to think, without much interuption. Feels that i have more time. Is that the reason behind meditation? hmmm...

On my way back, i spied a group of elders practising Taiji. On an impulse, i trotted over and asked about whether they have a course of something. Well... its $50/3 months, every Friday and Sat at 7am. I will be heading down tomorrow morning to learn ba. How about that? making more time? =)

Fate| Stay night - Excellent anime + thoughts

Recently came across the Japanese anime: Fate| Stay night. Excellent anime. 24 episodes in all, fast paced, but i would had preferred slightly more episodes to show more character background. Had been quite some time since i was so hooked onto watching anime. Somehow the storyline got me hooked.

The ending would be ... well.... *warning-might be a spoiler-avoid reading the fine print at the end of the post!!!!*

The picture is one of the main character:- Saber. Maybe i would be buying a figurine of it to place on my desk, that is, until i see the price tag for it. heh. Esp since i dont think it will come cheap, and plus the fact that i am rather cheapo. hmmmm.

Some thoughts on life, perosnal but also wish to share with anyone who reads this... unfortuately, it includes spoiler to the anime. So skip it if you wanna watch the anime 1st. =)

*Felt that the ending was rather sad, but can understand the reasons behind their actions.Although frankly speaking, deep down inside, i wanted them to be together. Why? Maybe cos i am rather sentimental? Used to cry in some sad movies, but after my brush with cancer, i cry when watching NOT that sad movies and even MTVs (Cried the 1st time i saw 童話 MTV, my eyes still tear when i think about it; Maybe it reflects how my life could have ended, maybe not as dramatic, but just as sad. Luckily only get to see it after i recovered =P ) . Losing someone you love is painful, the one who dies loses everyone he/she loves, wouldn't that be even more painful? Thus i feel that by knowing that the love for one would forever live in others' hearts, one would bravely pass on and face death peacefully. By facing death with a smile and a contented expression, wont that be the best gift you can give to your loved ones as they have a last look at you? A skill which we must learn is to know when to let go; to let go of wants, desires, anger, sadness, everything. Life goes on, do not carry any baggage, smile and move forward. Cherish the memories and the person shall live within you.

To my friends n family who read till here: Just to let you wonderful people know, i love you guys n gals!*

Balancing studies and exercise...

Having been staying in hall for quite some time, getting down to exercising liao. Need to build up my body stamina, which has been rather disappointing low recently. I guess being PES F, which means that i am not required to pass IPPT, has made me rather lazy. How have a ring of 100% fat around my waist. heh heh

Need to add some exercise time. Played frisbee yesterday, and plan to swim early tomorrow morning. lets hope i wake in time. =)

Now drawing conceptual design for MP4011, where we are tasked to design a complete massage chair!!! Sigh ... though the grass is aways greener next door, other projects really sounds a tad simpler than mine. tsk tsk ...

Well, at least i can listen to 9.33 while and draw on CAD. And croak along with the songs. =)

Today's picture of the day, arrr... a politically correct sign in Prague, Czech Republic on no smoking within the cafe. Aroma protection. Not bad. =) You can learn czech language too! On the right of the thank you is its translation.

Time to get back to work..... =)

Feel like a year 4 student

Did 2 things yesterday I never done before in my 3++ years in NTU which made me feel like a year 4 student. First, I stayed at CAD CAM lab at N3 till 8 pm!! Woo hoo!!! Yup. My first time. =) Second, I borrowed 3 thick hardcover books for reference for the suspension design. =P

Surprisingly, it made me feel like a year 4 student. About time too! Glad to have done up the conceptual design for the wheel, hub and some linkages with help from YX. Thanks! Moving on to more stuff, hopefully can do a mock-up next week for our driver's safety cage.

For today, did a bit of searching for information, still have a lot more to find. Now doing an Industrial Design assignment, which is to draw out a photograph 2 times the original size of 3R. To be completed by next week so .. rush rush rush... cos still have the powerpoint for the other class project still not completed.

Here's a look at my fridge in my room. Full of magnets and signboards which I bought in Venice, Italy. This would be the last year I would be using this fridge. All thanks to CBT who donated his fridge to me, together with some textbooks and stuff. =)

Well, it has been a long while since I, or rather the group of us, had seen CBT... Eh ... you too busy liao lah. If u see this, contact us for coffee leh. =P

<-- At least i know some Italian words liao ... i think ... =P

3001 tutorial understood !! But only 2 chapters.

Woohooo!!! Understood 2 chapters of 3001 !! Borrowing the textbk from Dawn. THANK YOU DAWN!!! Time to chiong liao. Tomolo getting suspension txt from lib 2. Need to come up with a double-a suspension for our car.

I realised that there are many stuff to think about as the project manager, from timeline, to different requirements, ways of integrating different systems AND have to calculate for my part, which is suspension. Been thinking of integration so much that i now lag behind in my own part. Should had proposed system integration as my FYP. Heh.

That's it ba. Nothing much happened today. Have to manage my time more wisely ba.

A break from the Europe pictures, here's one of my room in Hall 3. Snoopy and Ee Or holding hands on the TV in my room. =)

Trying out tutorial today

Sigh ..... All the tutorials so cheem. Going to sleep liao. Need to be more productive soon. Now still laggin behind tutorials, as usual ba. Happening since year 1. But it is time to set out to clear the back log and move ahead before the start of term break.

Hope to settle with a more detailed FYP timeframe and a set of deliverables to be done for a meeting end Sep or early Oct with our tutors. Time to sort out quite a few issues, on weight, motor, power and solar cells requirements. Time to do CAD and if only we can pop over the lab at night.

Jia you ba. Seng. =) Looking forward to frisbee on Friday. Which reminds me of the pain in my left foot. Accidentally dropped a hardcover 1 kg book onto my foot. Impacted on my 2nd and 3rd 'metatursal'. Pain. Should recover in time for frisbee on friday. Must remember to bring googles too! Then can go swimming. Time to get fit and trim those fats.

Heres a picture of fresh cherry tomatoes at Campo de Flori at Rome. Looks fresh and good too! Had blueberries there. Fantastic. Does anyone know where can i buy 'fresh' blueberries in Singapore?

Lobo-ed for 2 days liao

2 unproductive days passed. Nothing much done. Sigh. Have to start doing stuff before they pile up sky high. At least i packed up my table, tested out the 12" ibook G4 by running it 24hours. Should be ok except for a latch problem, which is more of a slight inconvenice.

Will have a presentation this Friday with Butler to the profs and the Solar car team. hmmm... still wondering what will be happening. Oh well ... heh .. sourcing for funds will be next ba.

Ar!!! have steamboat up at Blk 3C, heading up to forage for food... getting hungary liao. 1st supper in a very long time. =)

Here's a picture of St. Peter's Square. Taken on top of the dome of Vatican City. =)

Moving forward !!

Today was yet another step forward !! Having tied down the design parameters yesterday, today moved on to designing driver's safety 'cage' and aerodynamic profile. These small steps are the start of the journey of 3000 kilometres .. literally. =)

Well.... nothing much today, happy ba. Esp having won 3 games of Winning 11. Thank goodness i have a good neighbour who is kind enough to lend us his PS 2 while Yong Xi's PS 2 is under repair. Else... i would die of boredom. Heh.

Speaking of journey of 3000 km, they say all roads lead to Rome. Here's a picture from Rome, Italy. Since am already in Rome, it shows the main road leads to Vatican City. Yup. The 'fortress' with the light orange walls in the background is the Vatican City.

Got a chalet !! Thank you very much ex. XO 93 !!

Well. Gotten some good news today. Had asked ex XO 93 to help me get the SAF chalet for my birthday, very lucky to get balloted for it, and even luckier to have wonderful friends like cl. Thanks a lot!!

Hopefully won't clash with FCP? if i remember the term correctly. And you navy people can pop over for a BBQ and wine if you guys are free cos it is a tuesday. Though organising will be tricky, esp when my fluids dynamics paper ends at 1130 in the morning at NTU !! Although not the last paper, but *sigh* the next 2 papers both on 1st Dec.

Had thought about holding a birthday celebration for quite some time, considering my exam papers and it is a weekday. But yet again reflected on the fact that i 'graduated' from NUH last year, and that life is pretty unpredictable, so.... what the heck! Lets do it! Will get a chance to catch up again.

As for my FYP.... the lab closed at 1700 today, apparantly it closes slightly later on other weekdays. So will only be able to arrange and clear up the lab on Mon. Thinking on agenda and wat is crucial at this stage... hmmm...

So ... here's the picture of the day: U singaporeans out there think that being fined and jailed for vandalism is rather harsh in Singapore? If you try it in the world's smallest country, which is the Vatican City, you would be fined AND expelled from the country. =|

Yeah !!! Got the lab liao.

Good news today. Finally got our lab, though smaller and less accessible then i thought. But, it is still something to cheer about.

Tackling the tutorials one by one. Manage to understand PLCs, phew! Maths 3 looks ok so far, though have to work on probablilty as i skipped all of Jacob's lectures. Now is Ang on linear algebra stuff.. bascially big big matrixes.

Have lots to catch up on 3001 though. Controls are tough, esp when i am supposed to linearise non-linear systems. Theory is easy to understand, but application with maths = die liao lah. =P

Yet another picture from Rome, Italy. Singaporeans always think that we are a FINE city with lots of NO signs(No smoking, No littering)? Well, Rome have them too! Lots of instuctions on what NOT to do while on an escalator (No dogs, No sitting, No barefoot, No smoking, etc). Just wondering why no smoking on the escalator.... hmmm....

Looking forward to our project lab

Still tinkering with requirements and on how to kick start our design on solar cars. A few valuable info being fished out of the internet. And have to keep the addresses cos may have to quote the sources in the future. The main thing now is to get our project lab/room for us to start the project together. =)

Today had a surprise quiz during Maths 3 lecture (MP2006) ... luckily I was there to secure the 1/2 point (2 ques of 1/4 point each). It is maths... every 1/4 point counts!! Especially with my lousy track record of 2 Ds and a C for maths so far. =P

Hope that I will get good news from butler tomolo. As for tonight, as fairy tales and stories from Europe often have myths and legends on trolls underneath bridges. Been on the lookout and spotted a sign of troll activity in Rome. So, beware when u go underneath bridges lest you meet one. =)

Lots of stuff to do coming up!

Things are finally starting to get into motion, from the Strategic Management project, to MP 4011, to FYP. As usual, there is a time to rest, and a time where everything piles up. Lets hope i won't get the nervous breakdown on Nov 11 as predicted by David Butler, my FYP tutor. =)

Met him today to sign the form for FYP. After which i met the management project mates for discussion. At least can clear one project by end Sept, so not that bad. =)

Chanced upon DAC meeting, a group of undergrads who aquired the exquite taste of partially decomposing dead matter they stuff into their mouth in order to hasten the process of decay. Of which, the fabulous taste would come from decomposed fats (yum) and condiments made from fermented/preserved/processed stuff. No offense though ... hmmm .... in any case, there is quite a beautiful gal in that club, so Andy, go for it!!! =P

Lastly, as i continue on my design assignment or rather I hope to continue on the assignment as I would be sleeping soon, a picture of a door in Venice, Italy. It is rather common to have the door handle at the CENTRE of the door over there. However, still wondering whether the door opens on the right? the left? or is it just a ruse ... if u pull the door handle, the door will collapse on you. Killing curious visitors.

Remember ' Curiosity killed the cat?' ....so ... what did the cat want to know ?? Da cat will know that the door opens on the right. Heh.

How corrupted is your brain?

Looking at the sign at the back of the van ..... what would be your 1st reaction? Just wondering what the company is dealing with to come out with a logo such as this. Interesting though. =)

This picture was taken at the Spanish steps in Rome, Italy. As the van zipped passed me, was laughing away before trying out a shot at it. Luckily had a good cam which captured the picture quite sharply despite the van being in motion.

Now.... don't be shy, do tell what was the 1st impression of the picture? Shout it out in the tagboard. =)

Hmmm Venice...

Back in hall, forgotten to bring my digi cam so can show a pic of my room. Hopefully can start on FYP by this week. Tutorials are piling up too! Oh well.... step by step then.

Here's another picture of the day, a view within Venice and the famous gondola. There are thousands of bridges there ba, did cross bridges at least a hundred plus times for my 3 day stay there.

Finally started tutorials

Finally started tutorials.... heh. Industrial design. Get to draw some stuff, so not that bad, since i liked drawing. Here's a preview of my work ... hopefully i got the answer right.

Listening to 933 now... quite a long time never done so liao. Quite nice, but tired liao cos quite late. Time to ZZzzzZZzzz .....

but before that, here's a photo from Hungary, taken at the main train station in Budapest, think is the west train station: Keleti Pu. The signboard changes with flapping sounds as the the name plates flips to show the correct destination. Guess which train is the one i am going to board. =)

Haven't sorted out all the photos though, but think sorting out one a day will take me more than 3-4 years time. heh.. the bane of digital photographs. 20 rolls of film is easier to sort out for my Europe trip back in 2002.

the best sign i seen in Europe

For the trip to Europe, this sign here is the best i have seen. Heh. Couldnt find the actual size sign, so got a smaller one instead in Venice.

Only wonder if the sign says :- STOP ! or ..... no stopping as it crosses out the stop sign indicated by the blackened palm.... hmm ... =)

Anyway, now back in hall 3 in my final year of study in NTU.. and time to start blogging again. =)

Back from Europe =)

Back from Europe after a 20 day trip there. Still rather tired out, both from the tip and jet lag. Unfortuately was unable to update during the trip as internet was hard to come by, not to mention expensive.
Everywhere was nice, although the people in Prague like ... gotten worse? hmmm .. Had lost weight liao.... wonder how much i lost. Must go and weigh myself soon, not to mention have to go develop the fotos too!
Will update again with pictures once i get it transfered to my brother's computer .... my broke down again, this time would be tough to repair... have to troubleshoot card by card, suspect motherboard or hopefully power supply, cos have strange sounds coming out from the system, but couldn't trace it.
Oh well .... at least i have time. =P

My new toy ....

Finally got my digital cam after years of pondering. Decided against a DSLR as i still love the feel of using my FM2. So had gotten a prosumer instead, a canon S3 IS, for shooting candid shots and for posting on the web.

Here's a view of my monitor top, where a bunch a cuties smile at me all the time ... and a coral soft toy at the far right of the picture. heh heh .. forgotten who gave it to me liao.. looks like ... ermm. .. go figure. =)

So would be doing a write up of my trip as previous backpack trip. But this time will upload it whenever possible and wif fotos!! heh heh. Dont think i can upload very often, worse case would be not at all until i come back.

Looking forward to the backpack trip and the new sem .... but 1st .. off to europe in another 3 days. =D

Playing politics ?? it only shows your ugly character

Today was a rather happening day. Politics finally arose after 20 weeks into my IA. An engineer wanted an exhibition for our projects, and wanted us to volunteer. After getting disappointing participation, we now have to email him AND CC to our company supervisor AND our NTU tutor to say that we can't VOLUNTEER for the exhibition.

HECK !! we even have to get our NTU tutor to call him if we can't make it for a meeting... how ridicuous!! We get to use our tutor as secretary??

Me to tutor: "Prof, you have to call one of my engineer in my company to tell him I cannot make it for a meeting. Why you? Cos he SAID so ...."

Like ... too bad MR engineer .... i lost all respect for you liao. To pull strings to get undergrads to work for you??? Find poly students and maybe from SMU ones instead.... but maybe i generalised too much. Its just that the poly student and ONE SMU guy on attachment in the company were too arrogant and manage to piss just about EVERYBODY else in less than 20 mins... woo hoo!!!! An amazing achievement.... DEFINATELY deserves a platinum award for being an ASS !!!

YEAH !!! Finally have idiots to laugh at ..... hopefully she gets kicked .. else the rest are going to suffer. Thank goodness i flying off on holiday soon. An added blessing. =)

Coming to the end of my IA

Just submitted my report for vetting by my supervisor. Its coming to the end of 22 weeks liao. Time flies pretty fast ... was busy for the past 2 weeks. Doing the report, some research but still finding time to celebrate my fren's birthday and having a evening trip to JB for Dunkin' Donuts and seafood dinner.
Had fun at my IA company, met new frens and learnt new stuff. Best part is, i got my driving license during this time, thus not so painful on the wallet in terms of cash out for driving lessons.
Another thing is me being lured into the Rubik's club as this bunch of 'bad' influence got me hooked onto the Rubik's cube. Thank goodness not that big hook yet, but still .... i got my very own Rubik's cube liao. =P

My second ultrasound experience

Visited CGH's Sports Medicine Centre today to check on my feet. I suspect that the pain in my tendons is due to my flat feet. The doc checked and yes, i have flat foot on both feet. Luckily it is not THAT serious.... BUT i seem to have symptoms of foot problems which arises due to flat foot.

The doc did a series of tests on my feet. It was rather interesting cos he knows which part of my foot hurts. Best part was when he mentioned ... 'you sprained your left ankle recently?' I was like 'Huh? that was like 5-6 weeks ago.. i thought recovered liao?' He smiled and pressed down on the spot ... ' pain right?'

So that led to my feet being ultrasound-ed. He showed me the inflammation of the tendons, and cos i have flat foot, that particular tendon will take a long time to heal. So .. no more jogging for me for the next few months. Have to go back again make my customised orthotics, which is a pair of insoles to support my arch/tendon of my feet. This should prevent other foot problems from cropping up.

If only i had the knowledge that having flat foot may lead to so much problems, i would have gone for this when i was in the Navy back then. =P

Yeah!! Me have driving license lor !!

I finally obtained my driving license today. After a 5 year wait ... 1 basic theory, 2 advance theory tests (1st one expired) and 1 practical test (4D special = 5121). It seems a long time, but stuff keeps cropping up; from being posted to Tuas Naval Base for 4 years, to the unexpected bout of cancer last year prevented me from learning to drive previously.

Well... its a nice feeling to be able to complete what i aimed for, passing a first time attempt at the practical test. That will make it less than 3 months time with a total of $1084 spent. At 26 years of age, i am the last person among my frens to get the license... hahaha..

Thus i wish myself, a safe and joyful journey everytime i drive!! =)

Hmmm .... anyone out there dares to sit in my car while i drive? =P

A more fruitful day .... keep it up!

After feeling that i am procrastinating recently, was more motivated today to clear some back log of stuff to do. Finally cleaned my marine tank and changed some water. Pity i have no digital camera with me, else can snap a picture of the tank.

Did some more of my logbook; prepared the pictures to print tomolo in office, to paste in the logbook. Cleared up my cluttered desktop and stuff.

So .. was active for about 3-4 hours liao ... time to take a breather and then sleep. Tomolo will be my final driving lesson b4 the warm up and driving test on Wed. So, lets hope i will have good driving tomolo and an excellent one for the test on Wed. =D

Flea market today!

Had a stall set up for flea market today at Pasir Ris blk 104. Some pilot project for our community. It was a family affair for us + my girlfren. =) Had brought my gramophone down for sale. It was the most eye-catching of all the stalls there.. heh heh .... and the highest asking price.. $300. There was this middle aged guy who hung around for quite some time, but in the end decided not to buy.=P Will be polishing it up for the next flea market liao .. then up the asking price to $500. heh

Not a bad day, total takings is $40 after taking $6 off for the rental. Sold books, keychains, badges, toys and soft toys. Overall a statisfying family day. Really treasure the time with family nowadays, my family had went through a lot to support, encourage and keep me alive. Being together with them brings happiness which money cant buy.

So ... hopefully the project continues, then for the next flea market, will be bringing down my working antique phone; looks like the one on the right, except that it has a black plastic head instead of a brass one. It will go for $2800. haha .. the most expensive item in the entire flea market liao.

Procrastination, my biggest enemy?

Realised today that i have been procrastinating these past few weeks. Seems like i have tons of stuff to do, mainly personal goals to attain, but too little time to settle them all.

Had been spending time with my family this long weekend, family and frens for the last long weekend .. and the previous one too!! And .. yup... that's about it. Researched some stuff, played Counter strike (stupid com cant play BF2....), settled my expenses ... but nothing on my book, my website and etc etc ...

So many frens that i wanted to meet, so many frens i miss talking to, playing with and laughing together. But it seems like i dont have enough time to do all that, there is only 24 hours and they have their own lives too!

Sometimes i wonder if i am taking on too many personal 'projects' and still want to spend lots of time with my family and frens too! Not really stressed out, but rather .... tired out.

Think i have to put prioritise my life more. 'Carpe Diam!!' they say ... 'Diam too lagi short' is what i feel. Just dont like to put some of my personal projects (book, website etc) on hold. I guess sometimes i do fear that i may not get them done, not because i dont want to, but more of ..... i may not be around to finish them.

Surprising, having faced death, it makes me alive every single moment that i live. Before that, it would be more like ... i have a life, but i dont feel alive; nor do i treasure the experience of being alive.

I want to attain my personal goals ... unfortuately, i am greedy with so many. Hopefully i will complete all of them before my time runs up and my presence extinguishes. =)

Live life to the fullest!!

A day of many 'firsts'

Today is my 17th driving lesson. Achieved several 'firsts' .. and i hope it will be the one and only experience.

Today went to circuit, on my 'S' curve, no problem. At the end of the 'S' curve, is the crank course, which is not a problem also. Until i start to turn left OUT of the crank course, in my haste, my rear left tire kissed the kerb. =P Shitz ... best thing is..... i didnt even feel it.

Then, at the vertical parking, as i was reversing, the car opposite me was doing parallel parking at the same time. Afraid that i might hit the car, i looked at the other car in front and i forgot to check behind.... 'clink!' hahahahaha!!!

Lastly, while turning right on a T junction, i misjudged the speed on an on coming car on my left and had to stop in the middle of the road..... oops .... good news is, my right is rather clear. Bad news, my instructor was pretty pissed.... "Your test is coming soon! Tester will give you immediate failure !!!" i gave a sheepish smile and nodded. =P

Well ... thats about it. Now need to focus on outstanding issues such as SC project (need to give this a nice sounding nickname), my europe trip (Only left 2 train connections to settle; all lodging done! =D), clearing up my room, cleaning my marine fish tank and PASS my driving next WED !!!

Getting sickly on a free day ...

Its a company holiday today, in lieu of voting day last Sat. Supposed to do up my logbook, final report and update my fellow team members on the solar car project. Unfortuately, feel sick today, but still managed to do up some entries in my logbook.

Had lunch at Changi Village today. My father no longer working at the fish farm liao, which is good news as his arms and legs were constantly in pain previously from labouring in the hot sun while his limbs were wet with the dirty pond water. Its about time for him to take a breather after slogging for 30 +++ years to bring up the 3 of us. In a few years time, when i start working, then its time for my parents to retire as newspaper vendors liao. Thats one of my 5 year goal. =)

Came back and got an appointment at CGH for making an orthotics for my flat foot. Which is basically an insole customised for me. With increased ankle pain and foot cramps, its time to do something about it.

Well ... lets hope tomorrow will be a wonderful day with healthy spirits! Then can quickly finish editing the meeting minutes and send it out to the SC team!!

An almost wasted Sunday ... thanks to Election 06

Election happens once every 5 years... thank goodness for that!! Due to the vote counting, the papers on Sunday started printing late, resulting in all the newspapers arriving late yesterday. Which meant that my entire family was loitering around Chai Chee pick up point from 6am(Which was already later than usual) till abt 8am.

I slept at 130 in the wee hours of the morning after watching the election results, which was a pretty bad move as i had to wake at 5+ to go and deliver newspapers. But in the end, have to spend 2 hours waiting for the papers to arrive derives me of my precious sleep.

In the end, i spent the late morning and afternoon taking a rather long but unfulfilling nap.

The good news is, my brother drove my mom and me down to ikea to buy a new sofa (the sofa-those old type with wooden frame and square foam cushions-in our living room had gave up after 30 years of butt abuse) and a wardrobe for my parents. Total cost: $1151.50 ..... which is a better investment for the family than using that to buy a new PC for my BF2.

After signing on my credit card, we left and bought dinner back home. Later on i met up with TTW and fen for a swim. Manage to complete 20 laps only ... my triceps are crying out in agony liao. Looks like i have to reduce the frequency of my swims ... maybe this wed would be the next swim, if my muscles recover by then.

My treasured fellow Naval Officers

Received a sms this evening. It was an invite to Melvin's place for a gathering for our NJOC batch. Am very glad and thankful that I am still kept within the circle despite having retired from RSN. They have supported me thru my period of illness when they found out about it too! =)

Had learnt many things from them, and also from my fellow officers onboard 88 and 93. Being the youngest, i absorbed quite a fair bit of good stuff from everyone of them.... and then modified it to my style. =P Which means i'm not original per se, but i guess everyone have to start somewhere. And i was lucky enough to have them around.

In any case, if any of you guys read this: My sincere and humble thanks to fellow officers of the 23rd NJOC (if my memory serves me correctly), 88 and 93. More so on 93, the years i have served onboard as AO and NO with a bunch of excellent officers who not only inspired me then, but still lingers till now. If i still have chance of sailing with them again, i will have jumped at the opportunity.

Unfortuately, all things have to come to an end. Where people part and fate ends. Where the wonderful times and experiences; the laughter; the bonding and friendship are etched into memory.

Fortuately, they are such wonderful people that we still keep in touch. Or rather, they still keep me informed of activities whenever possible as i guess i wont be able to go TNB Wardroom for makan or any officer makan liao. =)

Thanks once again everyone*.

*Too many names to name liao ... hahahaha ... i still very lazy =P

Voting day tomolo !!!

Hahahaha !!! Finally get to cast my vote at least ONCE in my lifetime. Didnt get to do it last year when there was a walkover, but this time .. heh heh heh.

So what's so great about voting? It makes me and hopefully just about anyone who gets to vote feel more for Singapore be it for PAP or for any other opposition party. Even those who dont get to ponder, think and criticise about policies, politics etc etc.

I guess in the grand scheme of things, elections are good in a sense as they give Singaporeans a sense of belonging to Singapore. Where everyone (those who votes may be more involved ba..) gets to have a little say in the way they want the country to be run. Democracy? To a certain extent in my view. It boils down to who will be representing me in parliament and his views, character and abilities.

Flames reaching my pants liao ....

For the past few weeks .... have quite a few tasks at hand to juggle, the most pressing one would be the backpack trip this coming Jun. And quite a bit of stuff to do in office with datelines etc etc.

Finally completed the tests, and was going to catch up on my IA logbook and maybe ponder about the IA final report. Unfortuately, more new tasks poured in and rained on my logbook day. Then realised that i need to complete and send my report for vetting by my supervisor asap cos i heading off to Europe in Jun. Any delay could be disasterous.

So ... feeling the slight pressure to complete the report asap, not to mention the logbook too. =P Looks like this weekend is gonna be a sit in front of the monitor routine. Hiaz ... speaking of sitting in front of the monitor, reminded me of my book, which is still stuck in the middle of second chapter and BF2!!!!! Thank goodness did not go out to buy the new PC on impulse. =P
Else i foresee i'll be spending the weekend blasting enemies away with M16, GPMG.. or more likely, the other way round. heh.

Ah .... Vienna .....

Ha ha ... a picture of Vienna which i took back in 2002. A modern hotel with an old catherdral as the backdrop. I can still remember that once you smell the horse dung, you will know that you are near the city centre liao. Wonder if it had changed much ... hmmm ....

Getting all excited as June approaches ... will be going to Europe for my second backpacking trip, although this time would be shorter than the previous one, but will have more company this time round.

The price of a game ....

Unfortuately, i am currently losing the battle for BF2. Both my bro's and mine PC are way too out-dated for game, sadly in terms of processor speed. Which means that to upgrade, it will cost about S$1k in total. 'Ouch' .....

Oh well .... which would mean that i will spend days thinking of, debating on and calulating whether i have enough cash and whether it is worth it to DIY a new PC for BF2. Imagine a conversation that goes-

Fren:" Yoz Seng, heard abt BF2, how much does the game cost?"
Seng:" Oh .... a good buy!! i got a discount of $4.90 for the game .......... but have to spend extra ONE thousand doolars to play it."
Fren gives stunned face and then breaks out into laughter.......

On the bright side, it will make a great conversion piece over dinner ... or at least, its a good joke(I hope) on how foolish one can get.

Meanwhile ... will be sleeping on it..... strange to think that if i was never exposed to the existance of the game, this wouldn't have happened. Now .. who's that guy who said knowledge is power? Its more like, knowledge is temptation. xP

Celebrating Mom's birthday

Very happy to be celebrating mom's birthday today. Though it is only a simple eat out dinner at Fisherman's Village, it was quite a happy event for me. Think the main reason would be that i am sitting there, enjoying the meal with my family. It was quite cooling but a slight drizzle prevented us from sitting under the stars and enjoying the salty breeze beside the sea.

What a different experience it was as compared to last year. Can't really remember much though, probably near the end of a chemotheraphy cycle ... or going chemo soon ard this time last year. Cos i did remember to ask the Doc to schedule my chemo dates after birthdays, public holis and stuff.... so that i could actually enjoy them with frens or family.

Wow!! 1 month to go before my trip to Europe, 2 more months before my 1st anniversary of being in remission. heh heh... its great to be alive!! =D

The battle for Battlefield 2

Marvel Hulk aka David intro-ed me to the first person shooter game - Battlefield 2 (BF2) last friday. Yes, apparently it has been around for quite some time. But being the slow me, i finally got to know of it last week.

In the rush of adrenalin, the 2 of us bought the game and went back home, but before we could test it, we set off to pick up his girl at the airport. By the time i got back home, it was way pass midnight and it was yet another wait for morning to come b4 trying out the game.

Unfortuately, my PC couldn't meet the spec, cant even start the game.... OMG !!! ... how utterly disappointed... tsk tsk ... went over to Mr Hulk's place to try it out instead. Woo hoo!!! the game is good, so now .. yes .. NOW ... i'm trying to set it up on my brother's PC to see if it works cos his com is a year younger than mine, lets hope it is 'advanced' enough.

In the meantime, my old and apparently ancient AMD Athon ?? has crashed, the CD-ROM drive have also died in the quest to play BF2 .... looks like i lost the battle even before it started.. sheezh

Ways of the crow: A lesson for us?

Was at the playground and exercise station at Bedok South area, just opposite of TJC (Whose collar batch reads JTC from left to right -> Jurong Town Council cleaner is what i call my elder bro who aced his studies over there). Sat there watching the elderly folks working out at the exercise machines, and the kids playing over at the playground.

I realised that there are parents watching the kids while they mill about the playground, while the elderly grannies and ah-kongs worked out in silence and lonelyness. Wouldn't it be wonderful if their kids could spend some time just to be sitting at the benches watching them perspire away as they attempt to 'roll' the oars or 'jog' in the air?

I hope that it will happen to all of us one day, where people realise that the love for others, that giving time to family and friends are worth much more than gold. The effort to be sitting there on the bench for less than 30 minutes of one's time, can bring hours upon hours of unmeasureable pride and joy to one's parents as their memory of your love never fades.

Bedok interchange

Reach Bedok interchange at slightly after 6 pm today, wonderful weather - cloudy with cool winds. Was supposed to meet my girlfriend at our fren's place asap, but decided to have a leisure stroll around the interchange.

Quite a few changes to it since i last been there. Disappointing to see more concreted pavement instead of green grass, puny little stumps of trees (saplings are more like it) line the centre of the
w i d e pathway..... Miss the greenery which was there previously. Sigh .... so sad to find urban planners are really 'urbanised' liao ..... all concrete with plants far and few in between.

Strolled around, taking in the fresh air and ... well, people watched. Very relaxing. Very nice. Took me 35 mintues to reach my fren's place which is about 10 minutes walk away. Yup.. definately good to take a break and enjoy life, looking at things around me; the fresh flowers at the florist(cheap prices too!); the busy but cheerful aunty watching over the bean pastry machine over at Mr Bean outlet; the nonchalant sales person over at Yong Seng Jewellery.... wondering whats their life is like, their thoughts and hope that they are happy and contented in their own way.

Much have changed over at that place, though i had not really frequent it in the past, but it has a comforting feel to me whenever i am there. =)

My 20 seconds of fame today

Just read the papers, i'm on the news today! Well ... not really NEWS news, but just being mentioned in an article in the ST supplement Mind your Body (page 9). Not bad. Not only on papers but also on radio (95.8 fm), my voice being aired for a total of just about 20 seconds in total. Enough for my driving instructor to recognise my voice. =)

For the article, 7 sentences, 4 paragraphs and just about 20 seconds if read slowly. So that is about 40 seconds in total liao. Which would mean that i have 4 minutes and 20 seconds of fame that awaits me in the future. =P

Learning how to drive ...

My 13th lesson today. Raining weather, but not so bad. Da test is coming soon, on 17th May. Still unsure of whether i can make it anot, i checked with my ever silent instructor who sprouted out two syllabus "Okay". Which would probably be his 2nd comment in our 1.5 hours of interaction that is not a directional cue. Is this normal? To be paying $36 to ride with an instructor who seldoms speaks? hmmm .... have to check it out.

Anyway, lets hope i can pass on my 1st attempt on 17th May, heh heh, which will mean that my license will cost less than $1k sing doolah. *fingers crossed* Can't wait for the day to come, though now is to wait for next tues to arrive, for which i can go into circuit for the second time.

My lucky break

I am such a lucky guy !!! In my IA attachment, met new frens and guess wat... one of them's boyfren is on attachment in Germany !!! WOohOo !!! managed to liase with him to help us purchase train tickets over there, saving quite a lot of moolah !!!

Thanks Ian !! Though i have yet to meet you ... hope to seeya in Rome dude!

Black and white

Just to upload a picture from my virgin roll of black and white flim. Its taken with ilford HP5, with brilliant guidance from Tucker, a great guy from PVS, NTU. Looks good to me, rather satisfied with the picture. have a few others, probably scan it up someday. heh...

Finally ......

Finally ... after such a long procrastation, i'm going do up a blog here while waiting for a chance to learn how to develope my own website. Lets hope the momentum continues....
