Ways of the crow: A lesson for us?

Was at the playground and exercise station at Bedok South area, just opposite of TJC (Whose collar batch reads JTC from left to right -> Jurong Town Council cleaner is what i call my elder bro who aced his studies over there). Sat there watching the elderly folks working out at the exercise machines, and the kids playing over at the playground.

I realised that there are parents watching the kids while they mill about the playground, while the elderly grannies and ah-kongs worked out in silence and lonelyness. Wouldn't it be wonderful if their kids could spend some time just to be sitting at the benches watching them perspire away as they attempt to 'roll' the oars or 'jog' in the air?

I hope that it will happen to all of us one day, where people realise that the love for others, that giving time to family and friends are worth much more than gold. The effort to be sitting there on the bench for less than 30 minutes of one's time, can bring hours upon hours of unmeasureable pride and joy to one's parents as their memory of your love never fades.

Bedok interchange

Reach Bedok interchange at slightly after 6 pm today, wonderful weather - cloudy with cool winds. Was supposed to meet my girlfriend at our fren's place asap, but decided to have a leisure stroll around the interchange.

Quite a few changes to it since i last been there. Disappointing to see more concreted pavement instead of green grass, puny little stumps of trees (saplings are more like it) line the centre of the
w i d e pathway..... Miss the greenery which was there previously. Sigh .... so sad to find urban planners are really 'urbanised' liao ..... all concrete with plants far and few in between.

Strolled around, taking in the fresh air and ... well, people watched. Very relaxing. Very nice. Took me 35 mintues to reach my fren's place which is about 10 minutes walk away. Yup.. definately good to take a break and enjoy life, looking at things around me; the fresh flowers at the florist(cheap prices too!); the busy but cheerful aunty watching over the bean pastry machine over at Mr Bean outlet; the nonchalant sales person over at Yong Seng Jewellery.... wondering whats their life is like, their thoughts and hope that they are happy and contented in their own way.

Much have changed over at that place, though i had not really frequent it in the past, but it has a comforting feel to me whenever i am there. =)

My 20 seconds of fame today

Just read the papers, i'm on the news today! Well ... not really NEWS news, but just being mentioned in an article in the ST supplement Mind your Body (page 9). Not bad. Not only on papers but also on radio (95.8 fm), my voice being aired for a total of just about 20 seconds in total. Enough for my driving instructor to recognise my voice. =)

For the article, 7 sentences, 4 paragraphs and just about 20 seconds if read slowly. So that is about 40 seconds in total liao. Which would mean that i have 4 minutes and 20 seconds of fame that awaits me in the future. =P

Learning how to drive ...

My 13th lesson today. Raining weather, but not so bad. Da test is coming soon, on 17th May. Still unsure of whether i can make it anot, i checked with my ever silent instructor who sprouted out two syllabus "Okay". Which would probably be his 2nd comment in our 1.5 hours of interaction that is not a directional cue. Is this normal? To be paying $36 to ride with an instructor who seldoms speaks? hmmm .... have to check it out.

Anyway, lets hope i can pass on my 1st attempt on 17th May, heh heh, which will mean that my license will cost less than $1k sing doolah. *fingers crossed* Can't wait for the day to come, though now is to wait for next tues to arrive, for which i can go into circuit for the second time.
