Was at NUH yesterday at 9 am, getting my blood drawn for tests. Didn't see any NUH graduates (cancer survivors) i know yesterday. Read the papers and caught a nap for a while while waiting for the blood results to be out.
Finally called into the room, as i sat down, my heart sank a bit as i saw new numbers on my file... 12mm x 12mm. So i asked the doc on how was my scan before i jump to any wrong conclusion. Thank goodness i asked before i freaked myself out. It turned out that that lump of 12m by 12mm in my lung is suspected to be scar tissue, or just a lump of dead stuff that is left behind as my initial tumor is considered very big, so it is not expected to disappear. Good news is that the lesions (smaller sized tumor ~ golf ball size) in my liver have disappeared.
As there are no markers for the good doc to detect early stages of relapse of cancer, he will be using that 12 by 12 mm as a reference and thus i will have another scan in 6 months time. Ironically, he was saying that taking too many CT scans will have adverse effects in another 20~ 30 years time. Looks like its time to invent another machine that can replace the CT scan but by using non-radioactive/toxic medium. Too bad MRI can't replace CT scan.
So ya. very happy, but tired after everything, so only managed to reach 39 pages yesterday. Today is FEA day and getting all the necessary pictures to boost my pages. heh.
