Re-designed the suspension system today with the help of John. With the change in material from Aluminium to AISI 4130 alloy Steel and using of rod-ends instead of ball joints simplified the design quite a bit. Iterated the geometry quite a bit and learnt quite a few nify tricks for solid works from John too. His practical experience was very useful. Having completed the design for the front suspension system, i had to go back to help wheng and so let John design the steering knuckle. =P
Went back at 4 in the afternoon so that i can help guide 50 over students from RC to Tampines Mall for a movie screening. From primary 1 to sec 1, thats a lot of them, and we watched 'Surf's Up'. It was a challenge to get everyone to listen and even harder to get them to behave, especially the younger ones with very short attention span. Have to keep reminding them, luckily the older ones set a good example for them to follow. Nonetheless, it was a good experience and fun too! Can see that they had enjoyed the movie and was chatting non-stop on the way back to the RC.
The movie was made for kids, thus the usual storyline to motivate children to work towards their goals and being happy, winning is not everything. While that was like a sub plot in my mind, i found myself being very amazed at the computer rendered graphics. It must have took a long time and probably a few super computers in series to animate and render all that stuff. Amazing.... and it is not only time consuming, but to get all the details in.. i wonder how many hours they spent on the entire project... hmmmm...
